How TGR Chooses a Trailer Song

For this week's Soundcheck, we asked TGR Editor Morgan Conway about the process of choosing a song for a trailer. As the first bit of a film that the world gets to see (and hear), it's an important part of the creative process.

#1) GLASS HOUSE - KALEO

"Kaleo caught our attention because of their soulful voice and killer guitar riffs. For a trailer song, we wanted something that's as exciting as our skiing and gets you feeling fired up. 'Glass House' works perfectly because it's got that upbeat drive throughout the song, as well as a lot of movement. It never stands still. Plus, with such a catchy chorus, it's an all around win." - TGR Editor Morgan Conway

CHECK OUT THE REST OF THIS WEEK'S NEW TUNES:

#2) DANGEROUS (FEAT. JOYWAVE) - BIG DATA

This song features some  very paranoid lyrics, but it's got an infectious bass line that'll stick with you for days.

#3) HOW YOU BEEN - THUNDAMENTALS

"This verse is for you, even if you never listen to it." We'd recommend that you listen to it.

#4) HIGHER - THE NAKED AND FAMOUS

Didn't some ski dudes make a film called Higher? Sounds oddly familiar.. .

#5) DARK NECESSITIES - RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS

More seriously infectious bass. RHCP do not disappoint with their new album.
