A Bittersweet Farewell: Cody Townsend Concludes THE FIFTY Project

The adventures aren’t over, this channel isn’t over, but this is the last of Cody Townsend’s THE FIFTY project… and only four lines short of completing all 50 descents!

The Bloody Couloir, located in the Eastern Sierra Mountains of California, has a special significance for Mr. Townsend. Over 20 years ago, Cody skied this line, and while it was quite the chaotic mission, it was still the first couloir he ever skied. The significance of this line is immense for Cody, and his personal history with this run made for a beautifully symbolic end to his epic, five-year project. I love it when things in life come full circle.

This surly is a full circle journey for THE FIFTY. Joined by an all-star crew of friends and pros, Cody’s conclusion to THE FIFTY is bittersweet. While there are still four lines to attempt, the end of the FIFTY YouTube series is marked by the return to a classic couloir in classic FIFTY style, with a load of friends and a little extra bit of work. Cheers, Cody! Can’t wait to see what you do next!
